Squirrel House
Mom and Baby Squirrel Hanging the Squirrel House Squirrel House In a Tree Purchase Customer Comments Links |
The necessary rope, throwing bag and tube are included with each squirrel house kit. To hang our house we need to pick a branch, that is in the clear enough to allow us access to throw our throwing bag over it. After finding a good branch, all we simply need to do is unwind the rope on the ground. Then with the sand filled bag tied on, we hold the rope and swing the bag back and forth and when it feels right, toss it underhanded up and over the branch. The bag will have enough weight to pull the rope up and over the branch and back to the ground. Ok, so now we have the rope over the branch with both ends on the ground. Next we take the tube and tie it on the other end of the rope, the tube is sized so it will slip on the end of the hook of the squirrel house. The tube will stay on the hook once you start to pull the squirrel house up. Now all we have to do is slide the tube on the hook and pull the other end of the rope , (the end with the sand bag) and it will pull the squirrel house up and the hook will slide over the branch. As soon as the hook passes over the branch the tube will slide off and our rope will fall back to the ground and the squirrel house will be left hanging in the tree. The squirrel house is heavy enough that it won't be blown around much, it weighs on an average of 12 lbs. |

The first picture shows how to hold the rope when getting ready to throw it over the branch, the second picture shows how the squirrel house hangs on the tube on the end of the rope, when it is pulled up. It's pretty simple really
